The Golden Mascara Trifecta
I have been obsessed with mascara for a long time and am virtually never seen without it. I have tried possibly hundreds of brands, and have found a combination of lash products that I find superlative.
I should start by saying that I adore a fat, bulky, thick (even if that means kind of clumpy), dark, bold, enormous lash. I am not a huge fan of lenthening formulas that sacrifice on volume or pigment. So if subtlety is your thing, the following advice won't apply...
It's a thick, dark, gorgeous, showstopping combination.
The key to enormous thickness is lash primer. It seems like an excessive step, but is truly necessary for a big lash. Think about it this way: a big lash, a little lip, and a smooth complexion can make a gorgeous face with just three components, so a little extra effort in one of these three areas might actually mean less work overall.
My favorite lash primer and mascara combination of the moment is Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer followed by Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. It's a thick, dark, gorgeous, showstopping combination.
Then my heart skipped a beat when I discovered Givenchy Beauty Mister Black Mascara Top Coat. I wondered how it could be possible that my lash combo could be improved upon. The tiny applicator of this amazing product allows me to poke into parts of the lash I feel need more coverage, and also deepens the blackness on tiny lash ends. Truly a "top coat" for the lash-obsessed crowd.
Mascara trifecta perfected - voila.
